Led by the solid pitching of Liam Currier and Gavin Apice, Chariho defeated Slocum Baseball, 8-1.

Currier gave up only one run in five innings of work and Apice worked two scoreless innings.

The biggest play of the game was a “6-3” triple play turned by Alan Carpenter with the bases loaded with no outs in the sixth inning.

The Narragansett/South Kingstown Lions moved within a half game behind division leading Cranston with 10-8 victory over East Greenwich.

Using a six run a 6-run sixth inning, the Lions raced past the Avengers in a 10 to 8 slugfest.

Poitier got the win with three innings of string relief. In addition, hit had two hits (one triple) and scored two runs.

Also, Camp drove in three for the Lions.

Aiden Power continued his hot hitting for the Avengers, finishing with three hits and three runs scored. In addition, Sean Giannelli had two hits and two runs scored.

Led by the pitching of DeanPons Jr., the Westerly Bulldogs defeated the Cranston Bulldogs, 5-2. In a complete game effort, Pons scattering three hits while striking out 12. Chase Collins came up big with a double to left in the top of the second inning to score the game’s first run.

Noah Burdick’s timely hit gave Westerly a 2-0 lead in the third inning.

In the bottom of the third inning, Cranston tied at 2-2 on a clutch two- hit by Rodriguez.

Pons, however, would not allow another run the rest of the game.

Westerly score the go ahead run the fifth inning and took a 5-2 lead with two runs in the sixth inning.

Led by the one-hit pitching of Nolan LaPerche, Flood Ford Auto held off a late rally by West Warwick to record a 6-4 victory.

LaPerche, who pitched five shutout innings, struck out eight batters and allowed just one hit.

Down 5-0 in the bottom of the sixth inning and facing a reliever, West Warwick scored four runs on five hits. Providing the key hits were Calvin Battersby (rbi single), Josh Pedus (rbi double) and Nick Brown (two-run single).

West Warwick starter Ty Condon pitched well for the orange and black. In five innings of work, he allowed just two earned runs while striking out ten batters.

Lepore scored two runs for Flood and Devyn Glenn reached base twice on a long double and a walk.

Gian Lepore pitched the final inning for the save.

On Saturday (7-9-22), Jack Stevens and Andrew Smith combined to hold off Scituate in an 8-6 win for Chariho.

Offensively, Chariho was lead by Jack Stevens (2 hits & 2 RBI’s) Darren Clarke (2 RBI’s) and Adam Carpenter (1 hit & 1 RBI).
