Bulldogs squeak by Lions, 6-5!
In what could be a preview of the 2022 Rhode Island Connie Mack final, the division leading Bulldogs of Cranston squeaked by the defending champions, Narragansett/South Kingstown, 6-5.
With Cranston holding a 5-2 lead in the top of the fifth inning, the Lions came roaring back with three runs to tie the game at 5-5.
In the bottom of the sixth inning, catcher Ethan White led off with a double and eventually scored the eventual winning run on a sacrifice fly by Anthony Nardolillo.
Michael Smith continued his solid pitching, improving his record to 5-0 this summer. Anthony DeCotis recorded his first save of the year for the Dawgs by ending any threat by the Lions.
Avengers beat LaSalle, 11-5!
The East Greenwich Avengers beat the LaSalle Rams on Wednesday night (7-13-02), 11-5, behind the hitting of Aiden Power, Bodie Kaiser and Evan Macaulay.
The trio each had three hits to lead them to vicotry. In addition to that, Kaiser and Macaulay each scored three runs, while Power drove in three.
Kaiser, who struck out five batters in four innings of work, got the win.
Cote leads PAL past LaSalle, 9-5!
Led by the solid pitching of Tyler Cote, Warwick PAL earned a 9-5 victory over the Rams of LaSalle. In four innigs of work, he allowed just two runs on four hits.
Devyn Robbins pitched two innings in relief and Brady Maccarone pitched a scoreless seventh as Warwick won it’s second game of the season on Monday night (7-11-22).
Offensively, Warwick was led by Andrew Wheeler and Devin Farrell who each had two hits and walked twice.
Flood Ford surges past Knights!
On Wednesday (7-13-22) in East Providence, Flood Ford offense erupted for a 22-1 victory over the Knights.
Quinn O’Connel, who started on the bump for Flood, pitched 4 innings of no-hit ball.
Christian Buterra and Jay Pilderia each scored four runs for Flood.
Note: Standing Chase Bedrosian and Quinn O’Connell who combined on a no-hitter against East Providence.
Warwick PAL squeaks by Vogie!
In a gage between Vogie and Warwick PAL in late June (6-25-22), Warwick won a one run thriller, 7-6.
Matt Colvin threw four scoreless innings in relief and Devin Farrell had thee hits to lead Warwick to victory.
Chris Banach and Bobby Court also added two hits each to help Warwick to their first win of the season.
