Dean Pons Jr struck out seven batters and allowed just one hit in three innings to lead the Bulldogs past Chariho, 12-0.

Brayden Champlin, who pitched two shutout innings, also hit a two-run home run.

Westerly’s Joey Gabriele’s single in the top of the tenth inning drove in Drew Pearson for the game-winning hit in their 6-5 marathon victory over Coventry.

Although Coventy pitchers, Real and Calero, kept the Bulldogs at bay for most of the game, Gabriele, Pons Jr, Burdick and Tria did have multiple hit games for Westerly.

In the bottom of the ninth inning with the bases loaded and no outs, Dean Pons Jr. came into the game to keep the game at a 5-5 tie. Pons got the first batter to ground back to him for the force at home, which turned into a 1-2-3 double play and then, struck out a batter to end the Coventry threat.

In their first game in the month of July (7-2), Scituate edged West Warwick, 3-2.

West Warwick received a solid efforts from their pitchers, Logan Dean and Karl Swanson. Dean, who worked the first five innings, allowed just one earned run on four hits while striking out eight batters. Swanson struck out two batters in a scoreless sixth inning.

For Scituate, Evan Gray went the distance for the victory. After shutting out West Warwick for the first six innings, Gray gave up two runs on three hits before stranding two runners to end the game.

Spencer DiGiulio provided Scituate with a key rbi double in the bottom of the fifth inning to give them a 3-0 lead. Chrisitan Campanella had the other extra base hit for the blue and white when he doulbed and scored the first run in the bottom of fourth inning.

West Warwick, who only had three hits (Dominic Carollo, Dylan Provoyeur and Karl Swanson) in the first six innings, rallied in the top of the seventh inning with hits from Zack Lawrence (lead-off single), Josh Pedus (rbi double), Dom Carollo (rbi single) and Karl Swanson (two-out single).

Led by the stellar pitching of Vogie starter, AJ Jones, the Mount Hope contingent gave West Warwick their second loss of the season on Wednesday night (6/29).

Jones, who worked the first five innings, allowed just one unearned run on one hit and struck out ten batters.

In fact, the only hit of the game for WWCM was provided by Dylan Provoyeur who belted a single to right-center to lead off the bottom of the fifth inning.

For West Warwick, Zack Lawrence pitched solid game, allowing just two earned runs on three hits while striking out four batters in four innings. Josh Pedus, who struck out five batters in relief, pitched the final three innings.

In a make-up Connie Mack game on Tuesday night (6-28), West Warwick defeated East Providence, 18-0.

West Warwick received offensive support from a plethora of players including Calvin Battersby (1/4, two runs and one rbi), Brendan Griffin (1/e, three runs, one rbi and two walks), Josh Pedus (3/4, one double, three runs and one rbi), Ty Condon (2/4, three runs and three rbi’s), Logan Dean (3/4, three runs and two rbi’s), Nahtan Hunt (3/3, one run and one rbi), Karl Swanson (1/2), Dom Carollo (1/2, two runs, three rbi’s and three walks), Nick Brown (1/3, two rbi’s), Dylan Provoyeur (1/2, one rbi) and Leyton Belanger (0/2 , one rbi).

D. Hernandez had the only hit off of starter Ty Condon.

Condon, who worked the first four innings, stuck out five batters. Karl Swanson struck out the side in the bottom of the fifth inning.
