2014 Summer Running Club Donation & T-Shirt form

Posted by Mike Davis at Jun 4, 2014 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

To all athletes participating in the 2014 Summer Running Club -

To offset the cost of liability insurance, there is a voluntary donation of $35 being requested.   We also use this money to rent the park for our alumni run, buy treats for the athletes during the summer, and of course, provide a quality, highly demanded, Summer Run t-shirt.

Payment is indeed voluntary, as is all money for athletics, but we sincerely hope you will find the payment nominal compared to the time spent with your athlete this summer.

Forms were handed out at practice.  Please return as soon as you can.  Forms can also be downloaded here, by clicking on the handout below.

Happy miles!

The Coaches

Did you miss the meeting on Wednesday the 4th?  Don't worry, all the handouts are provided in the attachment link below.  The importance of getting an early start on the season, and building up your base of miles, was the key item discussed.    Information on the 300/200 mile club (300 is the target for returning runners, 200 for new runners) is also provided.

Interested in the Running Camp up at Humboldt State University??  If not, you should be!   This camp is open to all returning MVXC runners, and any incoming freshman who have been specifically approved in advance.  Please review the flier included.

Also attached is a draft 2014 schedule.

What more could you need?  But in case you have more questions - email Coach Davis directly.   mike.davis@sbcglobal.net

Solid turnout today as the team turns out in force to help raise funds via the car wash!  Nearly $1500 raised to offset the team expenses.   Both shifts work hard, play hard, as washing cars provides a backdrop for a fun morning and afternoon.   Special thanks to our great parent volunteers today, especailly Elaine Davis, Joe Francisconi and Laure Kiser.  Also a shout out to Yvonne Aha has her dad (athletic booster President Mike Aha) for helping to organize the tickets and the signups!    Images from the car wash below.   GO MUSTANGS!
