How many Summer Villagers / Fall Villagers teams will there be?

MSO Softball’s goal is to field one Villagers Softball team for each age division:  8U, 10U, 12U and 14U.  Depending on the number of girls who tryout in each age group, there may be an opportunity to field multiple teams.  The final number of teams selected will depend on the number of qualified players and coaching volunteers in each age category.  Teams will be composed of 10-14 players each.

How and when are Suburban Villagers / Summer Villagers / Fall Villagers teams selected?

Villagers teams are selected through a competitive tryout process.  Separate tryouts are held for each season – Spring (Suburban), Summer and Fall.

Tryouts for the Suburban Villagers team typically take place in February or March.  Details on tryout dates, times and locations as well as registration fees will be posted on the Suburban Villagers page when they are available.

Tryouts for the Summer Villagers teams typically take place in the Spring.  However, the tryout dates for each team (age group) may vary depending on whether the team intends to play in a spring league and/or spring tournament(s).  If spring games / tournament(s) are planned, then the tryouts may be held as early as October or as late as March.  If not, then the tryouts will usually be held in May.  Details on tryout dates, times and locations as well as registration fees will be posted on the Summer Villagers page when they are available.

Tryouts for the Fall Villagers teams typically take place in June.  Details on tryout dates, times and locations as well as registration fees will be posted on the Fall Villagers page when they are available.
