What Summer Villagers / Fall Villagers team will my daughter be eligible to play on?

For the Villagers Softball program, the team your daughter will play on is based on her age as of January 1st of the current year.

Example #1:  If your daughter turns 11 on December 31, 2017, then she will be older than 10 at the start of 2018 and therefore will not be eligible to play 10U in 2018.  Instead, she must play on the 12U Villagers teams in 2018.

Example #2:  On the other hand, if your daughter does not turn 11 until January 1, 2018, then she will still be be 10 at the start of 2018 an will therefore be eligible to play on the 10U Villagers teams throughout 2018.

See the Villagers Softball page for a full list of this year's Villagers cut-off dates.

Training & Development

MSO Softball encourages our girls to continue the development of their softball skill by attending softball camps and other softball clinics.

MSO Softball Clinics - Clinics organized and run by the MSO Softball Committee.

Softball Camps & Clinics - Other camps and clinics that are offered locally as well as nationally.

Rutgers SAFETY Clinic - Required training for all first-time MSO Softball coaches.  Information on Rutgers SAFETY Clinic dates and times will be posted in the Coaches' Corner section once it is available.

If you have information about other training facilities or softball camps and clinics in the area, then please email the MSO Softball Committee so that we can include the information on the MSO Softball website.

Weather Updates: Code-a-Phone & Twitter
(South Orange Fields ONLY)

If the weather or field conditions are in question, there are two ways that you can be informed:

Code-a-Phone - Call the Code-a-Phone at 973-762-0748 to hear a recorded message about cancellations or postponements.  If there is no anouncement for the current day, then all activities will take place as scheduled.  Messages are generally posted by 4 p.m. on weekdays and 8:30 a.m. on weekends.

Twitter - Set up “twitter” account to receive notifications.  To do so, go to http://www.twitter.com/, create a free account, and follow “SOrangeRec”.  Again, if you receive NO notice, then all activities will take place as scheduled.

NOTE:  You can also get updates sent to your cell phone without a Twitter account.  Just send a text message that says "Follow SOrangeRec" (without the quotes) to 40404 and you will start receiving tweets from us on your device.
