The high school pulled out of the Buckeye Local Panther Classic for this year and entered the McGuffey duals one week later on February 11th.

Competing in the duals are the following teams.

McGuffey, South Fayette, Shippensburg, Charleroi, Beth-Center, Thomas Jefferson

Dr. Crossey will be administering physicals for the girl’s spring sports season tomorrow.

I talked Bob Alpino into setting up a skin check for the wrestlers as well.

If they want a skin check, tell your kid they need to get a pass and a PIAA Skin Form from me for 8:00 am.

If they already have being treated please have the information written down to give to Dr. Crossey as well.

Remind them when they are done they should have a form clearing them of any skin diseases.

First, the Clinic for tonight is at the Junior High from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Second, on thursday there will be a clininc as well at the high school with Zack Zummo from 6 pm to 8 pm.

Third, we have three kids with skin diseases.

Here are our 4 steps of action:
(1) we are asking that everyone take all of their stuff home each day to sanitize (clothes, shoes, kneepads, and headgear).
(2) We mop the mats every day before and after practice but we are going to re-santiize everything in the room for the next two days.
(3) We are also having Ryan Kesterholt, our trainer, do daily skin checks.
(4) During this time we are asking that you have you wrestlers pay close attention to any skin anomalies. If anything occurs make a coach and the trainer aware, see your doctor, and get a PIAA skin form filled out for contageous and non-contageous items.

New Oxford Wrestling Tournament

Weights for New Oxford only are 2lbs growth plus two consecutive competition pounds. This means for the rest of the season 106 lbs is 108 lbs, but for New Oxford only its is 110 lbs.

Friday: January 27th, 2012

• All wrestlers will leave PHS at 9:45 am to leave for the tournament.
• Weigh-ins will be at 2:30 pm.
• Varsity wrestling is scheduled to start at 4:00 pm.
• No ending time given.

Saturday: January 28th, 2012

• All wrestlers will leave the hotel at 6:30 am to head to weigh-ins at the school.
• JV wrestlers will weigh-in with the Varsity wrestlers at 7:30 am.
• Varsity wrestling is to begin at 7:00 am.
• JV wrestling is to start at 7:30 am.
• No ending time given.
