REMINDERS
A few reminders for this Saturday's swim meet now at Wesleyan University (see below)...
- Our team needs to provide one timer for Session I. Please be prepared to time. The session could be shared with other parents from our team so there is no reason one parent should have to time the entire session.
 
- Please remember we are guests of Wesleyan University, so please no roaming the building and be respectful of the facility.
 
- Wesleyan will run concessions in the main lobby of the Freeman Athletic Center.
- Wesleyan has a home football game scheduled to begin at 12noon. This will make parking more challenging. Please plan accordingly!
 
-  Please do not arrive on the pool deck before 12:30pm as Wesleyan will be finishing up with their annual Black and Red Intra Squad Meet.

Important Announcement - meet at Wesleyan University:

We hope everyone is staying warm and with electricity.
During the storm Sandy, the Westport YMCA pool was hammered with flood waters that have put the Y out of commission. Therefore the WRAT swim team cannot host the Freestyle Frenzy meet at their pool this weekend.
 
The WRAT team was able to secure the pool at Wesleyan University (Middletown, CT approximately 1.5 hour travels) for this weekend. The location of the pool will result in a change for the sessions on Saturday. The tentative times would be as follows:
  • Session I: 9-10 Girls & 11-12 Boys - Warm-up = 1pm; Meet Start = 1:45pm
  • Session II: 9-10 Boys & 11-12 Girls - Warm-up = 5pm; Meet Start = 5:45pm
  • Sunday - Session III: 13 & over - Warm-up = 8am; Meet Start = 8:45 or 9am
Please let us know ASAP (the latest by Tuesday evening) if you will be able to participate in this meet this weekend. Depending on Orcas swim team participant numbers we will decide if Orcas team will participate in the meet this weekend.

NCY Tough Pentathlon - Meet Announcement

October 13, 2012

REMINDERS:

WHAT: IM Tough Pentathlon
 
WHERE: New Canaan YMCA (564 South Ave., New Canaan, CT  06840).
 
WHEN: Saturday, October 13th. Warm up is at 7:00am.
Be on the pool deck 15min. prior to the warm up.
 
***Don't be late! Coaches need to hand in a “scratch sheet” prior to the start of the meet session. If swimmers arrive late (without informing their coach in advance), the swimmer will be scratched (taken out of the meet and not put back).
 
WHAT TO BRING:
- Teams swim cap (if you have)
- Teams swim suit (if you have. New purchases did not arrive yet, so if you don't have one, wear what you have)
- 2 pairs of goggles
- 2 towels
- Teams t-shirt (if you have)
- Warm cloth to wear, to keep body warm between the races
- Small snack and drink 
 
PARENTS, PLEASE NOTE: 
- One timer is needed from our team (no experience needed).  This duty can be shared with the other parents on the ICSC team at the meet so please come prepared to help out.
- No parents will be allowed on the pool deck (unless you are timing).
- There will be NO PARKING at the YMCA, South Ave., Putnam or Surrey Roads. Please park at the New Canaan High School (you will be able to drop your swimmer off by the front door of the Y).
- Please view our meet protocol (attached to this email).
