WRAT Qualifier Meet Announcement
Westport/Weston YMCA
February 16, 2012
ICSC 9 & Over may enter

Please note: Italian Center must supply 1 Timer - Saturday Afternoon for whole session
REMINDER:
WHAT: WRAT Qualifier
WHERE: Westport Weston Family YMCA (59 Post Road east, Westport, CT)
WHEN:
Saturday, February 16th
Warm up times:
10&U – 7:30AM
11/12 & 13&O – 1PM (1 timer needed)
***Please be on the pool deck 15min. prior to the warm up and report to the coaches.
WHAT TO BRING:
- Teams swim cap (if you have)
- Teams swim suit (if you have. New purchases did not arrive yet, so if you don't have one, wear what you have)
- 2 pairs of goggles
- 2 towels
- Teams t-shirt (if you have)
- Warm cloth to wear, to keep body warm between the races.
- Small snack and drink
PARENTS PLEASE NOTE:
- Orcas need to provide 1 timer during Saturday PM session
- Only athletes, coaches, officials, and official meet staff actively participating in the meet are
permitted on the pool deck.
- Parking is available in the municipal lot on Elm Street, behind the Family Y. Please observe parking restrictions.
DIRECTIONS: Merritt Parkway (Rte. 15): Take exit 42. Go south at end of ramp (right from New Haven,
left from New York). Bear right at first intersection to Main St. and follow for one mile to center of town where
you must make a left turn (street become one-way). Just after left turn on Elm St., the Y is on your right. Long
term parking is in the lot on the left of Elm St. Please observe parking restrictions.
I-95: Take exit 17. Left off exit. Continue north on Rte 33 to Rte 1 (Post Road). Take right onto Rte. 1, go
over bridge and take left at second stop light onto Main St. Take first right onto Elm St. Y is on right, parking
on left. Please observe parking restrictions.

Orca's Practice Cancellation & Team Communications Policy

If schools are cancelled then Orca's practice is cancelled.
If schools are released early due to bad weather, then Orca's practice is cancelled
Often a mass email will be sent out by the Orca's reiterating any such cancellations and a notice will be posted on the Orca's team website.
If schools are not cancelled nor released early, and a cancellation email is NOT sent, then Orca's practice is ON.
PLEASE do NOT phone the Coaches except in real emergencies.
Most of the Orca's coaches are teachers who work elsewhere during the daytime and cannot take phone calls.
If your swimmer must miss his/her scheduled practice then a prior email or text to your Orca's Coach is appreciated.
This particularly applies when your swimmer must miss a swim meet in which he/she has been entered.
Alternatively, you may be able to speak to one of the Orca coaches at the pool immediately before practice but no earlier than 3:30pm.
If you need any information please check the Team Bulletin Board and/or Website before emailing or texting the Orca Coaches.
Meet entry lists (paper) and other notices are posted on the Pool Bulletin Board and on the Orca's Website and should be checked frequently as all are subject to change.
