Order of events for the EBAL Center Meets

Posted by Mike Davis at Oct 4, 2010 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

For the first two EBAL Center Meets, there will be four races:

4:00PM - JV Boys (JV&FS)
4:30PM - JV Girls (JV&FS)
5:00PM - Varsity Boys
5:30PM - Varsity Girls

All 8 of the EBAL teams will run against each other.  The varsity meet will then be scored as a series of dual meets.  Therefore, a score of 7-0 would be a best score possible.

The JV races are not scored at the Center Meets, although we will post unofficial results.

Remember - all athletes are excused after 5th period.  You must ride the bus to the meet.  You can leave with parents - but only AFTER the Varsity Girls race.  Do not ask to leave early - you are expected to cheer on your team!

The first race is at Shadow Cliffs in Pleasanton, which charges $6 for parking.  The second Center Meet will be held at Robertson Park in Livermore (new venue for the EBAL).

2010 - OVERNIGHT RELAY - RESULTS

Posted by Mike Davis at Oct 2, 2010 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )

"Light Up the Night" a huge success as the Monte Vista Cross Country team hammers out over 107 miles while enjoying a great evening of games, food and team bonding!  All participants run at least one mile as the team hits a solid 6:40 / mile average pace and once again easily breaks the 100 mile goal.

Neon and bright tie-dye was the rule tonight, as the team "lit up" the darkness.  Despite the stadium lights going off a couple times, the team never waivered in having smooth handoffs - keeping the relay going all night long.  A great job by the captains organizing the runners.

Former Coach Austin joined the fun as he unleashed his now famous parachute game and nerf foam balls.  His dog Gustaf also joined in on the festivities.

Food was plentiful as everyone brought more than enough to eat throughout the night.  The grill was active until past 4am!

The freshman waited patiently for their early morning shifts, while the upperclassman hanmmered out their miles early in the night - another Overnight Relay tradion.

There were more than a few 'strange' outfits during the night, perhaps none more bizzare than the Soph and Junior Boys who wore...well, I guess you had to be there.

By 8am it was clean and locked down - the fun of the event firmly established in the memory of all!

Thank you to all the parents who helped us time and who brought goodies to eat.  While the final count is not in, the team hoped to raist over $1000 for the Save Mount Diablo Organization, a payback for all the time we spend on those trails!

GREAT JOB TEAM!
