MVXC END-OF-SEASON AWARDS BANQUET

The end-of-season awards banquet was held on Tuesday, Nov 30th in the MV Commons.  On queue, the great MVXC Parents, led by Team Parent Jean Chin, set up quite a spectacular venue for the event.  With BBQ catered in by Kinders, and deserts covering two tables, the team and families had more than enough to fill up on! 

With basically 6 teams to cover (Boys/Girls, FS/JV/V), the event is like a good long run - you have to pace yourself to get through it!  While many, many team members were worthy of special mention and awards, the coaches chose 3 or 4 in each group to call out and honor for their efforts and dedication.

NCS Scholar Awards:
All those who had an unweighted GPA of 3.5 or higher were asked to stand and be recognized.  There were 68 teammates who had reached this honor.  To balance grades with a full time sport is a skill that should be recognized... and was. 

The team GPA's came in as follows:
FS/JV Boys = 3.31
FS/JV Girls = 3.49
Varsity Boys = 3.37
Varsity Girls = 3.50

TIME:  First race at 1:00 PM.  Full Schedule:

BUSES:   Leave Monte Vista at 11:30 AM.

LOCATION:  Start / Finish: Shadow Cliffs Regional Park, Pleasanton CA.  East Bay Regional Park.  Parking is $6.00.  No other admission charged.  3 mile course.  No snack table.

 

DATE:  November 6th, 2010

 

AWARDS:  Top seven individuals in the Frosh/Soph and JV races earn All-League certificates

               Top seven individuals in the Varsity Race earn First Team All-League Patches and Certificates

               Runners 8-14 in the Varsity Race earn Second Team All-League Certificates

 

Team titles awarded in all divisions.  Varsity team titles based 50% on regular season EBAL standings and 50% on the EBAL Championship meet.  Ties broken based on higher finish at the Championship Meet.  Frosh/Soph and Junior Varsity titles awarded solely on team placement at the Championship Meet.  All races scored "invitational" style (not dual meet).
