News and Announcements

Hello Lady Titan LAX Family,

It looks like we are about 10 days away from our first Fall Ball lacrosse games. I wanted to give you the latest list of those who have signed up. We currently have 17 girls signed up. We are in that gray area of having a lot of subs for one team, or no subs if we have 2. We will most likely have to go to 2 teams.
All games will be played at Blue Valley North HS (12200 Lamar Ave, Overland Park Kansas 66209). The Blue Valley School District policy will only allow 45 total people on the field at one time…so with 2 games going on (4 teams), plus a coach, plus refs, we can only bring 10 girls per game (12 tops), and no fans. I know this absolutely sucks, but it’s the best we can do under the COVID circumstances.

Here’s the latest roster:
Tessa Duncan
Jo Boosman
Kate Boosman
Abby Mackenzie
Alysia Gallagher
Gracie Lucas
Kameryn Bishop
Betsy Avila
Angel Vandiver
Annelise Oster
Megan Muriuki
Christina Berkstresser
Morgan Del Valle
Lucy Costanzo
Reese Fleming
Courtney Clark
Elise Miesner

Please let me know if you have any questions. If you are planning on signing up and haven’t yet, please let me know ASAP. The league has a couple of school with under 5 players, so they may want to add them to our roster, so if you still need to sign up, let me know so I can make sure to keep your slot on our roster.

Good Morning Lady Titan LAX Family,

I know it’s been a while since we last spoke. I hope everyone had a wonderful summer (as wonderful as COVID would allow). Now that everyone is back to school, it must mean one thing…Fall Ball. I know it may be difficult to think about that since everything is completely out of the norm lacrosse-wise…no season last Spring, a really weird summer league, no fall indoor lax at Lakeland, etc…

I committed to having just one team to participate in Fall Ball this year. So far, we have 12 girls signed up, which is enough to field a 7v7 team with subs. If you have not signed up and are interested in playing, please sign up. We will get you on the field. We can always field a second team if enough players sign up to field 2 teams…so if you want to play, please sign up.

The website is kcgirlslax.com then click the big green button that says Register Now.

The first games are scheduled to start on 27 SEPT and run through 25 OCT…so if you are going to sign up, please do it quickly as the first game is less than 2 weeks out.

They will supply a pinney just before the first game.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me.
Have a great week.

Good Morning Lady Titan Family,

I know I haven’t communicated very much since the end of ULAX…personally I was just trying to give everyone a break from all the ULAX emails I had to send over the summer months. As the start of “school” is right around the corner, this also means Fall Ball is as well. If you had not heard, I canceled the indoor training sessions at Lakeland for Sept and Oct just because I felt that having so many people in such a confined space was a risk our coaching staff was not willing to take with our health, and the health of the players.

The KC Metro League had numerous discussions about Fall Ball, and decided to move forward with Fall Ball with some added safety measures. I have heard from a number of you that you are interested in participating in Fall Ball. Please click the link at the bottom of this email and register. I cannot guarantee at this time that the coaching staff will be able to participate, so we may have to treat this like we did the ULAX league this summer. I’ll get more clarification. Below is the league email for your reading pleasure:

*Hello Players, Parents, Coaches and Team Administrators,

After much discussion and playing the waiting game with all the different school districts as to what decisions were going to be made regarding fall sports (as well as what the health officials are recommending) the KCMGLA Board has decided to move forward with the annual 7v7 Fall League this fall. Obviously, we did not make this decision lightly and we are going to constantly monitor the pulse with regard to health concerns in the metro area and could make adjustments on the fly if necessary.

This fall schedule will be a little different than in years past. We have reserved 5 weeks of game play every Sunday beginning on Sept. 27th and running through Oct. 25th. We are going to schedule the first 4 weeks of the season once we know how many programs have registered and how many teams we will have as it relates to Upper and Lower divisions. The final week of the season (Oct. 25th) will be left open for the following purposes: KC Heartland Lacrosse is going to be hosting a 2-day tournament that weekend and we anticipate that some programs will want to participate. For those that do not choose to participate or those teams that ended up having to postpone a game due to a Covid-19 issue we will create a schedule for that final weekend (Oct. 25th) to end the season. We will not be having our own end of the fall season tournament as we have decided that at this time the priority is to get the girls playing and continue to grow the game of women’s lacrosse.

All games will be played at Blue Valley North HS (12200 Lamar Ave, Overland Park Kansas 66209) and we currently have two fields reserved. This is due to the fact that we can no longer run 3 games on a field so we had to reserve 2 fields and will be running 2 games per field each day. Since we will now have essentially 4 game fields compared to 3 in the past, we should be able to not only social distance (per health care regulations) we will probably be able to finish a little earlier each week. Each team will play 2 games every Sunday. We will be sending out information related to what will be permitted as it relates to fans as well as officials, coaches, and players regarding the Covid-19 regulations the Blue Valley School District has imposed.

Please push out to all your programs the registration information so that we can start to get a better picture of the number of teams that each program will be fielding. I have attached a link to the league website to make things a little easier for all.

Happy Wednesday Everyone.

I hope everyone is well and healthy. I know we are moving closer to the start of the school year, and if you are like me, you are still wondering how it’s all going to play out…are the kids going in-person? virtual? mixture of both? And what does it all mean for extra-curricular activities. So, after talking with the coaching staff, and reading emails from the league, here’s what’s going on:

First, we are going to cancel the indoor lacrosse sessions that were scheduled for Sept and Oct of this fall. With all of the players and coaches crammed onto the smaller indoor field, we believed the chances for contracting COVID would increase, which is not acceptable for us.

Secondly, the league has proposed an outdoor 7v7 Fall League just like last year. The proposed season dates would be 9/27, 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25. What I need to know is who would be interested in participating in the Fall League. I believe it will look much like the summer league, which I know was very frustrating to many of you. What I don’t know is where we would play our games. Please send me an email at lswhsgirlslax@gmail.com and let me know whether you will participate or not so I can get an idea if we will be able to field a team. If you can let me know by this Friday, I would greatly appreciate it.

That’s it for now. Please feel free to email me or text me with any questions.

Hello Lady Titan LAX Family,

I hope all of your are enjoying the “fall-like” morning we are experiencing today. It looks like we will have a comfortable evening for our final gameday tomorrow for the ULAX League.

So, based on last week’s rainout, we now have both teams playing tomorrow night at the same time for the final night of ULAX this summer. Here’s the schedule:

TUESDAY 4 AUGUST
6pm Goal Diggers vs Blue Valley on Field #2
6pm Mesh Addicts vs St. Thomas Aquinas on Field #4

7pm Championship Games (If either team, or both teams, advance to their respective Championship game, they will play at 7pm.

So, now that both teams are playing at the same time, we won’t have the ability to borrow players from one team to fill the roster for the other, so we will need every player to come to the games tomorrow if possible so we have enough players to compete. Please make every effort to play tomorrow night. Let’s finish strong!

That’s it for today…see you tomorrow night!
