News and Announcements

Hello Lady Titan LAX Family,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. Sorry for being a day late on my weekly email, but I needed some information and guidance from the LSW Athletic Director before sending out information this week.

We are set to start indoor lax practices this Sunday 3 JAN 2021 from 5pm – 7pm at Lakeland Community Church (913 NE Colbern Rd, LSMO 64086). I had reached out to our AD for some guidance on how we can best manage these indoor practices and stay well within the COVID guidelines that have been outlined by LSR7 when it comes to indoor activities. Based on Jereme Hubbard’s feedback, we are going to split the team into two smaller groups and work each group for 1 hour. I know this reduces the amount of training by half for each player, but it’s the best way we can do this and limit our exposure to both the players and coaching staff. So, here’s how we are going to manage indoor sessions on Sunday’s until further notice:

Starting 3 JAN
5pm – 6pm: All players whose last name begins with A-K
6pm – 7pm: All players whose last name begins with L-Z

Doing it this way will have less players on the field at one time, and allow the coaching staff to space players more than 6ft apart for most (if not all) drills. Just know, these safety measures are the coach’s attempt to allow the players to get back on the field and play the sport they love, while making every attempt to keep them safe from this virus.

DO NOT FORGET YOUR FACE COVERING! You will not be allowed to participate if you do not have a face covering to be worn at all times while in the building.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Happy New Year and we’ll see you on Sunday!

Good Morning Lady Titan LAX Family,

It’s Christmas Week everyone. First, on behalf of the LS West Girls LAX coach staff and Lacrosse Board, we would love to wish everyone in our LAX family a very Happy Holiday season. We hope that everyone has a chance to be around family (whether in person or over Zoom/Facetime).

As we head into January, we have a couple of things I wanted to remind you of:

- Sports Physicals: Please make sure you have a sports physical on file on the LSR7 PRIVT website that is valid through the Spring 2021 season. If you need help with PRIVT, please let me know, I’ll be happy to help.

- US Lacrosse Memberships: Please make sure your USL membership is updated and valid through the Spring 2021 season, so preferably through May 2021. If your membership expires any time between now and the end of the Spring 2021 season, you will NOT be allowed on the field (practice nor games). No exceptions.

- Winter Indoor Sessions: Our first Winter Indoor session is on Sunday 3 JAN 2021 at 5pm – 7pm at Lakeland Community Church (913 NE Colbern Rd, LSMO). All players, coaches, parents entering the building MUST have a face covering on at all times. Bring your equipment and be ready to work!

- Virtual Conditioning: Our Coaching staff has put together a team YouTube channel where our conditioning coaches are posting virtual conditioning workouts in an effort to get everyone into shape in preparation for the season. The channel is for the LSW Girl’s LAX team, and the expectation is for the players to do the workout at least 3 times a week and continue to push yourselves harder. Below is the link to our YouTube Channel:

Coach Ron has posted the first workout video for everyone to use.

That’s it for this week. Have a Happy Holidays everyone. Remember, whatever you eat over the next 2 weeks, you’ll have to run off later!

Good Morning Lady Titan LAX Family,

I hope everyone had a great weekend. We don’t have very much going on this week as far as lacrosse goes. I do want to welcome our newest members of the Lady Titan family. As of this morning, we have 36 girls registered to play for next season, with 7 of them being new to the team. This upcoming season will have some stressful moments, and will it force us to operate differently than years past, so I ask everyone to be as flexible as possible as the coaching staff and LAX Board navigate these obstacles.

Here’s what I do want everyone to work on as we head into the holiday:

- Make sure your US Lacrosse membership is renewed and active through the end of the Spring 2021 season (around 1 JUNE 2021)
- Make sure you have a valid sports physical on file on the school’s PRIVT page. If you need help with PRIVT, please let me know.
- As of today, we are still planning on having the indoor sessions at Lakeland Community Church starting on 3 JAN 2021 at 5pm. ALL PLAYERS & COACHES WILL BE REQUIRED TO WEAR A FACE COVERING AT ALL TIMES DURING THESE SESSIONS. Please make sure to bring one. For new players, we would prefer that you have your lacrosse equipment before the first session (stick, goggles, mouthpiece). We cannot guarantee enough spare sticks if you arrive without equipment.

That’s the list. Short and sweet. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me. I’ll be glad to help.

Good Morning Lady Titan LAX Family,

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. On Saturday, we had our In-Person Registration for our new incoming players coming into our team. We had 7 new players join the team, with 6 of them coming from our youth LS United team as freshman, and one new player. I hear we may have 1 or 2 more new players joining in the near future.

Now, as we move into the holiday season, we have 2 things we need to take care of as soon as possible.

#1: Please complete the online registration form on Teampages. This is just a way for us to collect the important information for each player. We are not collecting any money, just information. If you have not completed the online registration, and are planning on playing this next Spring, then please complete the form as soon as you can so the coaching staff and LAX Board have a good idea on how many players we will have for the upcoming season. As of this morning, we have 31 players already signed up via the online form. Thank you to all those who signed up already. Here’s the link for everyone:

#2: We will start our indoor lacrosse sessions at Lakeland Community Church on 3 JAN 2021 at 5pm – 7pm. All players and coaches will be required to wear a face covering at all times while we are conducting these sessions. Please make sure you comply with this, because if any word gets back to LSW that players are not wearing face coverings, then they may shut us down. Also, if anyone is not feeling well on any of these Sunday sessions, please do NOT attend the session for that week.

That’s it for this week. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions.

Please complete the online registration form if you haven’t!

Good Morning Lady Titan LAX Family,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Now that we are back to school, I hope everyone can finish strong to the end of the first semester in few weeks. 2020 continues to bring us challenges until the very end, and I feel we’ll need to continue to be flexible on how we handle our season and our club as we move into 2021.
Here are a couple of important things to note as we move into the winter:

- Online Registration on Teampages: Online registration is open. We are not collecting any money at this time as we are playing a “wait and see” game with how the spring season is going to shake out. The online registration form is to gather data on who is planning on playing next Spring. The only cost you’ll need to incur right now is the renewal of the US Lacrosse membership ($35) because the online registration form will ask you to confirm the US Lacrosse membership number and expiration date. If you are planning on playing next season and have not completed this online form, please do so. So far we have 17 girls who have registered. Here’s the link to the online registration page:
www.teampages.com/forms/23144-2021-Spring-Season-Lacrosse-Registration

- In-Person LAX Registration: We will be at LSW’s Bateman Hall this Saturday morning (5 DEC from 9am – Noon) to help anyone who may either need help with registration, or for any new players who need to be fitted for uniforms or pick their jersey number. If any of you know of a new player, please tell them to come see us on Saturday morning.

- Winter Conditioning: We are still planning on having winter indoor conditioning at Lakeland Community Church. Our sessions will be from 3 JAN 0 21 FEB from 5pm – 7pm. We will need to ask everyone to expect to wear a face mask or cover while inside the facility. I highly recommend wearing a face gator (or gaiter). Walmart has some that are pretty cheap (under $10). I recommend the stretchy, breathable kind (not cotton). Here’s a link for you to look at:

That’s it for this week. Please let me know if you have any questions.
