Mid-Florida Certification Dates for 2007

Posted by Anne Wintsch-Reis at Apr 10, 2007 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
If you are interested in Coaching in the Fall of 2007 you need to be certified by Mid-Florida Pop Warner. Coaches: If you have someone in mind and they haven't been a part of Azalea Park Panthers, then you'll have to be sure to track them down and give them this information. In addition, Reggie needs to be aware of these coaches too. Everyone: Check your badges and see if you're up for "renewal" The dates are below. Please email me the date you are interested in attending. First, here are some things to think about before picking a date. 1. Do not be late for this class. Doors lock and you will not be let in. So allow ample time to park, get to the classroom, etc. 2. Please do not miss the class. If you are late or if you simply do not show up and have to be rescheduled, Azalea Park is charged for the class you missed. Therefore, Azalea Park will charge you. Unfortunately through the years, people don't show, then people that could have been in the class get left out and it's a bad situation. 3. Certification is a privilege. It allows you to be on the sidelines on game day for the team you have been rostered to. It is not "an all access pass". Please do not intrude on another team (unless you have been specifically requested to help by the Head Coach of that team). 4. Be prepared to stay for the entire class. Pictures are taken for the badges at that time. Receiving the Badge for certification means you attended the entire class. 5. It may cold, it may not be. You may need parking fees, you may not. 6. Please bring the confirmation email or at least the confirmation number with you to the class, just in case there are any issues. 7. No August class is planned. And if it is - $75 to paid at the door in cash! Thanks very much for committing this time to Azalea Park Panthers Pop Warner!! Now in order to attend a class, you need to email me the following information: Name, Address, 2 contact phone numbers, email address, date and time of class you are interested in. Autograph Signing Fundraiser event to be held on Saturday April 7th, 2007 from 12noon till 2:00pm at the Rio Pinar Beef'O'Brady's, Lake Underhill and Chickasaw Trail location. Scheduled to appear NFL greats James McKnight and Eric Green! This will be lots of fun - talking to the NFL Pros and having your picture taken with them! Then stay and eat at Beef'O'Brady's after you're done. So come on down to Beefs Saturday and help support Azalea Park Panther Pop Warner Football and Cheerleading! And make sure to tell your friends! James McKnight, WR from Liberty University, was an undrafted free agent in 1994 and signed with the Seattle Seahawks. James made the team in 1994 but appeared in only 2 games. He played mainly special teams for 3 seasons in Seattle and then finally found his way onto the field on a regular basis in 1997. He rewarded the Seahawks for his play with 34 catches for 637 yards and 6 touchdowns. In 2000, James signed a free agent contract to play for the Dallas Cowboys. James had career highs with 52 catches for 926 yards and 2 scores. He signed to play with the Dolphins in 2001 and grabbed 55 passes his first season in Miami. James signed to play with the Giants after the 2003 season. James has caught 222 passes for 3,595 yards and 18 touchdowns over his 10 year career. The 1990 first round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Green was the 1990 AFC Rookie of the Year and was selected to the 1993 and 1994 NFL Pro Bowls. Green, who also played for the Dolphins, Ravens and Jets, played in the NFL from 1990-2000. Once his playing days ended, Green joined the front office of the XFL's Orlando Rage in 2000, serving as a scout and assisting in the Rage's draft process. Over his career, Green played in 120 games and caught 362 passes for 4,390 yards and 36 touchdowns. The 21st pick of the 1990 draft of the Steelers, Green left Liberty as an All-American and was selected to play in the Hula Bowl and Senior Bowl following his collegiate career. Green capped off a stellar career with an outstanding campaign in 1989. He caught 62 passes for 905 yards and 10 touchdowns. The 10 touchdowns are still a single-season record at Liberty. Green is familiar to long-time UCF fans from his playing days at Liberty. He caught seven passes for 73 yards and two touchdowns against the Knights in the Citrus Bowl in 1989. In 2002, Green served as the tight ends coach and assisted with the offensive line of the Frankfurt Galaxy during preseason. He later joined the Minnesota Vikings as an intern in 2002, through the NFL Minority Fellowship Program and helped coach the tight ends. He continued to work with the Vikings through the 2003 season before coming to Orlando with Coach O'Leary. Green also coached the tight ends in the 2003 Gridiron Classic for the Florida team. imageimage
Below is some information on a very informative program for all ages regarding academics, athletics and careers. So take advantage of the event now for planning your future! This is a good event for all kids, young and old, and the parents as well. The purpose of this ministry is to educate kids and parents about the expectations of competing in sports and some of the challenges they will face along the way as a parent and a player. image
