This Week in Girls LAX - Week of 15 FEB

Posted by Jay Hertzler at Feb 15, 2016 8:27AM PST ( 0 Comments )

Good Morning Lady Titans LAX Family.

Here’s what’s coming in LSW LAX:

Tuesday 16 FEB – Indoor session at Lakeland Church (8pm – 10pm)

Upcoming Events:
- Sports Physicals at LSW on 20 FEB. Please read the article on Teampages for more details. Each player is required to have a CURRENT sports physical on file to be eligible to participate once the season starts on 29 FEB. If you have any question on whether your physical is good or not, call Monte Seabaugh at 816-986-4008 to confirm.
- Varsity Tryouts (29 FEB – 3 MAR) – This is also the official start of the outdoor season, so practices will be from 5-7pm at the sod lacrosse stadium behind the turf football field. Practices will be Mon-Thurs from 5-7pm throughout the season. If weather or field conditions will not allow us to practice outdoors, we will move indoors. I will use the texting function on Teampages to inform the players. Make sure your profiles on Teampages have a mobile number entered.
- KC Metro League Umpire Evaluations (6 MAR) – LSW Girls LAX has volunteered to supply players on 6 MAR at 3pm (and maybe 4pm if girls want to stay longer) at Blue Valley NW High School at 135th & Switzer in OPK. This will be a “sticks-in” format with the Blue Valley LAX team and is an opportunity for the league to train and assess the level of umpires in the league.
- Clash of the Titans (10 MAR) at 5:15pm. The player and at least 1 parent are required to attend at least one of these sessions per school year. This will be the 3rd and final Clash of the Titans session of the year, so if you have NOT attended one already, then attendance will be MANDATORY for the lax player and 1 parent to be eligible to play.
- Mandatory Parent Meeting (10 MAR) at 6pm (maybe a little later as it is immediately after Clash of the Titans). This meeting is mandatory for parents to attend (I prefer the players do NOT attend) as it is an opportunity for the coaching staff to introduce ourselves and to set expectations to the parents for the upcoming season and answer any questions any parent may have. The location for this meeting is still TBD, but I will communicate the location once it is determined.

Here’s to a great week! Season starts in 2 weeks!

This Week in Girls LAX - Week of 8 FEB

Posted by LSW GIRLS LAX at Feb 8, 2016 6:48AM PST ( 0 Comments )

Happy Monday to the Lady Titan LAX Family,

I wanted to start these emails back up so everyone will get an idea on what’s coming up in the Lady Titans LAX world for the next week. Here’s what is coming up:

Tuesday 2/9 – Indoor session at Lakeland Church @ 8pm.

Friday 2/12 – Make-up indoor session at Lakeland Church @ 3-5pm. This is a makeup from when we cancelled a Tues night session a couple of weeks ago due to bad weather.

The location for this meeting is still TBD, but I will communicate the location once it is determined.

That should be it for now. Please visit the Teampages site at least 1-2 times a week to make sure you are well informed on what’s going on. The start of the season is right around the corner. I hope everyone is as excited as we are on the coaching staff.

Have a great week.

2016 Sports Physicals

Posted by LSW GIRLS LAX at Feb 3, 2016 8:42AM PST ( 0 Comments )

For those of you that do not have a Sports Physical on file for this year, there will be a session at LSW on 20 Feb. Details below per an email from Dr. Sharp. Each player will be required to have a current sports physical on-file before participating in the Spring season starting 29 FEB.

Dear LSR7 parent,
The Lee’s Summit School District is holding two physical clinics for current LSR7 students in grades 6-12. The first clinic will be held from 8-11am on Saturday, February 20th at Lee’s Summit West High School. The second clinic will be held from 8-11am on Saturday, February 27th at Lee’s Summit High School. Please note that for 12th grade students, this would only apply to those students that still need a physical for a spring sport this school year. All other students can use this physical for all MSHSAA activities for the remainder of this school year and the entire 2016-2017 school year.
This year you can register and prepay online for $20 through the link below. You may also come to one of the clinics and pay $25 at the door. All proceeds will be divided between all three high school athletic training programs. Thank you for helping support the LSR7 athletic training programs.

Mike McGurk – LSNHS Director of Activities
Debbie Katzfey – LSWHS Director of Activities
