Led by the five-hit pitching of Calvin Battersby, West Warwick defeated the Cranston Bulldogs, 8-1.

Battersby, who will be entering his senior year at WWHS, struck out eight batters in seven innings of work.

In the bottom of the second inning, West Warwick took a 2-0 lead when Brendan Griffin lined a two-run single to right-center to score Logan Dean (reached on an error) and Dom Carollo (bunt single).

Cranston cut the lead to 2-1 when C. Melise sinlged, stole second, advanced to third on an error and scored on a sacrifice fly by Kyle Palardy.

With the score 3-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning, WWCM scored five runs on three hits, two walks and one error to break the game open. Providing the key hits were Ty Condon (lead-off single), Kyle DaSilva (rbi double) and Dom Carollo (rbi single).

Andrew “AJ” Jones led Vogie of Mt. Hope to a 5-1 no-hit victory over Cranston.

In a game that featured five lead changes, the Cranston Bulldogs outlasted East Providence 9 – 6 in 9 innings.

Kyle Palardy and Jake Chin scored the go ahead runs on Mike Smith’s key rbi single in the top of the 9th inning to give the Bulldogs a lead they would not give up.

Cranston reliever, Christian Adams, allowed only two runs over the last four innings to pick up the victory. Kyle Palardy picked up the save when he got the last two outs of the game to quell any East Providence rally.

In a well-played game between the Westerly and West Warwick, the Bulldogs won 5-4.

In the top of the second inning, Westerly took a 3-0 lead with three runs on hits by Costa, Burdick, Pearson, Tria and Kyan.

West Warwick cut the lead to one when Will Cornicelli (single) and Nathan Hunt (single) scored on back to back singles by Alex Johnson and Brendan Griffin.

Trailing 4-2 in the fifth inning, WWCM scored a run when Dylan Lombari singled, stole two bases and scored on a dropped fly ball.

In the bottom of the sixth inning, West Warwick tied it at 4-4 when Lombari walked with the bases loaded to score Dominic Carollo (lead-off single).

Westerly scored the winning run in the top of the seventh inning when Vargas singled, stole second and with two outs scored on an errant throw past third base on an attempted steal.

Led by a 12-hit attack, the Rams of LaSalle defeated West Warwick, 8-2.

Offensively, they were led by Rodrigues (2/3, one double & two runs scored), Natale (2/3, one double & three rbi’s) and J. Nardolillo (3/3, one run scored & one rbi).

After being no-hit after five innings , West Warwick’s bats came alive in the sixth by scoring two runs on consecutive hits by Ty Condon, Brendan Griffin, Liam Gravier and Quinn Kortick.
