Hello Lady Titan LAX Family,

First, I wanted to extend a big “Congratulations” to all those Lady Titan players who received an Academic Award last night. Well done!! You truly put the “Student” in Student-Athlete.

Second, I hope everyone enjoyed the night off last night and I hope we can use this time to heal as we have a number of players dinged up, hurt, battling nagging injuries, etc…as we head into the final 2 weeks of our 2018 season, I wanted to map out what we can expect…so here it goes:

WEEK of 30 APRIL

Monday 30 APRIL – Gameday vs Shawnee Mission at Shawnee Mission North HS (7401 Johnson Dr, Overland Park, KS 66202). Google Maps estimates this drive to be anywhere between 35-45 mins. I would plan on a 45 min drive. We have late starts for this game. JV is the first game at 6:30pm, then Shawnee Mission will be celebrating their Senior Night, then Varsity will be right after their ceremony. I would expect the Varsity game to start around 8:00pm, so just be ready for a long night. I have been informed that noisemakers (i.e. Cowbells) are banned at Kansas High School activities, so please leave them at home. Just plan on cheering louder!!

Tuesday 1 MAY – Practice + Team Feeding at Dean Rasdall’s House. I will text out the address on Tuesday.

Wednesday 2 MAY – Gameday & Senior Night vs Lee’s Summit HS at LSW. JV game at 5:30pm, then Senior Night activities, then Varsity game afterwards (around 7:00pm). We will need all parents of Seniors to be ready to walk the field with their daughter right after the JV game finishes. The weather forecasters are expecting a chance of severe weather for Wednesday, so we’ll have to keep an eye on weather. Please be flexible if we have a change in plans.

Thursday 3 MAY – FINAL REGULAR SEASON GAME vs Lee’s Summit North at LSW. I know this will be a very intense game considering our rivalry and the behavior of the LSN parents when we played them at LSN a couple of weeks ago. I just ask that we keep cool heads in the stands and act like we are supposed to. Remember that we have a culture at LSW that we strive to keep, so let’s cheer in the stands accordingly.

Friday 4 MAY – Possible make-up JV game against St. Teresa’s JV. Because our JV team is currently in 2nd place, we want to make sure we get all of our 10 games in so we can be sure that there are no questions about us earning a spot in the JV playoffs. I am currently working with STA now on confirming they can come out to LSW that night for a JV game. Once I nail down the details, I’ll share with the team.

END OF 2018 REGULAR SEASON

PLAYOFF WEEK – WEEK OF 6 MAY – We won’t know exact game times until we know what seeds we will be assigned at the end of the season. Just use these dates and times to carve out your evenings, and I will share what our actual game times are after we finish our last regular season games and I learn what seed we are assigned. For our Varsity Quarterfinal game, we will play on Monday OR Tuesday, but not both.

Monday, May 7 at Rockhurst University (1100 Rockhurst Rd, Kansas City, MO 64110)

Tuesday, May 8 at Rockhurst Univ
Varsity quarterfinal 3 — 5:30
Varsity quarterfinal 4 — 7:30

Wednesday, May 9 at Rockhurst Univ
Varsity semifinal game 1 — 5:30
Varsity semifinal game 2 — 7:30

JV championship game — 5:30
Varsity championship game — 7:30

I know this is a lot of information and a great deal of lacrosse coming up, but we are almost done…I am very proud of how our team is fighting in every game. There are a lot of talented teams out there, and we are one of them, and in this format I have learned that we have just as good a chance to win the Championship as all the other teams. Time to finish strong.
