In a game played at Smithfield (7-5-22), Vogie downed Smithfield, 12-6.

Rocco Ferolito was on the mound for Vogie and pitched four solid innings allowing just one hit while walking four batters. In fact, Ferolito and the Vogie defense only allowed one Smithfield runner to get past second base.

Vogie took a three-run lead in the top of the second when they batted around and sent all nine batters to the plate.

In the top of the fifth inning Vogie once again batted around their order, garnering six hits and two walks to build an 11-0 lead.

Smithfield, however, opportunistically closed the gap when they scored six runs of their own on two hits and five walks to close the gap to 11-6 in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Jacob Ferreria would come in to pitch the 6th and 7th for Vogie and faced the minimum of 6 batters and ended the game by picking off the only runner he allowed to get to first base.

Vogie added their 12th run in the top of the seventh when Rocco tripled home Matt Gale who had lead the inning off with a single.

For the night, the Mt. Hope nine collected 15 hits on the night with 2 triples, 2 doubles and 11 singles. Matt Gale lead the way with three singles while Parker Camelo two extra base hits on the night. Camelo collected a double and a triple in consecutive at bats in the fourth and fifth inning. Ethan Santerre, Caleb DeCastro, Jacob and Brian Abbruzzi all had multiple hit games as well.

Danny Desilets and Magoo Camelo played great defense on the night and helped drive in runs for Vogie while collecting a couple of hits and walks to help plate some of Vogie’s runs.
