Vogie outlasts West Warwick, 11-6!

Led by a ten-hit attack, Vogie of Mt. Hope defeated West Warwick, 11-6, in Rhode Island Connie Mack baseball last night.

In the top of the third inning, Vogie struck for five runs on three walks and hits by Parker Camelo (rbi single), Andrew Jones (two-run double) and Matt Gale (two-run double).

West Warwick cut the lead to 5-2 in the fourth inning when Ty Condon singled in Chase Joubert and Josh Pedus.

After allowing two unearned runs and falling behind 7-2, WWCM scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on two hit batsmen, one walk, one error and hits by Sean White and Sammy Corrado.

With the score at 8-5 in the last inning, Vogie added three insurance runs when Jonathan Jones emptied the bases with two outs on a three-run double to centerfield.

Offensively, Vogie was led by Cam Connor (2/3, three runs scored), Andrew Jones (1/3, one double, two runs scored and two rbi’s), Matt Gale (1/3, one double and two rbi’s), Jonathan Jones (2/4, one double, two runs scored and three rbi’s), Dayton Van Ambers (rbi double) and Aidan Macdougel (1/2, two runs scored).

For West Warwick, Sammy Corrado (1/3, one rbi), Chase Joubert (1/3, one run scored and one rbi), Ty Condon (2/4, two rbi’s), Dominic Carollo (1/2, two runs scored) and Sean White (2/3, one run scored) led the way.

Before tiring in the heat and humidity, Vogie’s starting pitcher Dayton Van Ambers had a solid effort through the first four innings, by allowing no earned runs on four hits while striking out four batters.
