In the battle of the bulldogs, Cranston defeated Westerly, 7-2.

Pitcher Jake Latek rebounded from a subpar outing against Chariho to throw a 1 hitter over 5 2/3 innings , striking out seven. Over the final 1 1/3 innings of play, Anthony Decotis pitched hitless ball.

Offensively, Cranston led by Kyle Palardy (2 rbi’s) and multi-hit games from Chris Melise and Alex Paone in the win.

In the first inning, Cranston’s Chin lead off the game with a double to right and later scored the first run of the game on a sacrifice fly and the bulldogs from Cranston really never looked back.

Latke was able to keep Westerly off the bases until Shaffer started the bottom of the fifth inning with a shot to center. McAllister and Pearson would also reach base, loading them up for an rbi by Tria. Pedersen would drive in a run to close the gap to 4-2 Cranston, however, they would not score any more runs against Cranston pitching.
