WW downs Tigers, 16-3!

On an extremely warm and muggy night, West Warwick defeated the Tigers of Tiverton, 16-3.

Tiverton struck first with two runs in the first inning by Nick Mercer (walk) and Devan Perroni (hit batsmen).

In the bottom of the first inning, WWCM scored six runs on four hits, two walks and an error. Getting rbi’s were Sammy Corrado (single), Josh Pedus (fielder’s choice), Dominic Carollo (two-run double).

After keeping the Tigers scoreless in the top of the second inning, WW opened up a 9-2 lead on hits by Kyle DaSilva (lead-off double), Sammy Corrado (single) and Will Cornicelli (two-run single). Josh Pedus drove in a run on a sacrifice fly to right field.

West Warwick opportunistically scored seven more runs over the next three innings on five walks, three hit batsmen and rbi hits by Josh Pedus (two-run double) and Nick Brown (two-run double).

The Tigers scored a run in the top of the fifth inning when Devan Perroni doubled, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on Tyler Garside’s rbi single to right field.

Sam Corrado picked up the victory by allowing no earned runs on one hit while striking out six in three innings of work.
