NORTHEASTERN STRIPING (TEAM #1) WINS U16 HOUSE CHAMPIONSHIP

 

After winning the regular season with a record of 7-1-4 and sweeping round robin play 3-0-0, a very talented Team 2 sponsored by Sureway Trucking and coached by Connor Gates, Mike Kania, and Mike Lasher worked hard to build a 3 – 0 lead late into the second period. Team 1 sponsored by Northeast Striping with regular season and round robin records of 7-3-2 and 1-1-1 scored a power play goal with 6:42 remaining in the second. With 1:37 left in the second Northeastern Striping knocked in a rebound for Team 1’s second goal. After playing short-handed for about 6 minutes, Northeast Striping tied the game with 1:33 left in the game.

 

The championship would have to be decided by a shootout. The first shooters for each team scored. Both goalies then made several tremendous saves until Northeast Striping’s 4th shooter scored. It came down to the last shooter for Sureway Trucking. He beat the goalie, but rang it off the post. (It was less than an inch from going to the second round of shooters.) The result was a 4 to 3 shootout win for Northeastern Striping Team #1 coached by Don Wenzinger, Bill Cohen and Fred Ortloff.

 

Congratulations/Thanks to all U16 division players and coaches for their hard work and participation throughout the season and in the playoffs!

YMCA SUMMER ROLLER HOCKEY

The YMCA Roller Hockey League will run from April 20th

to July 7th 2010 at the BCC Ice Center.

Program Fees:

Members: $62.00

Non-Members: $94.00

Registration deadline is 4/5/10.

All registrations after the deadline will

be assessed an $8.00 late fee

Youth Memberships are ONLY $65.00/year

Playing time for the 6-8 division is one hour alternating time.

• 3 hrs of ice, 1½ hrs power skating with Besa and 1½ hrs hockey skills with Revolution Coach (in a group MAX of 18 players!!!!)

• 45 min dry land at Pittston location (outside or inside)

• Healthy snack/water

Price for ExRR (Extended RR)

• 1 h of a SMALL (up to 6 players ONLY!!!) power skating sessions with Besa at RHT location ( with option to go on Synthetic ice)

• advanced 1 hour dry land instruction at the Jim and/or cross
