Celebrate the Individuals Recognized for Their Contributions to Our Team's Success
At the end of every season coaches gather to decide which players made the most impact. In other words, who were the best players in a conference, district, region, and state?
Different levels operate in different ways. For the Northern Michigan Soccer League it was decided to have a first team only this year. Players are selected based upon the impact they had on the team's finish. Fewer players are recognized because there isn't a second team, but those who are placed on the first team deserve to be there.
At the District level coaches who want to nominate players either send in nominations or they attend a selection meeting. Once at the selection meeting, fourteen players and two goalkeepers are chosen to represent the District and hopefully move on to Regional and All-State honors. Beyond Districts, individual coaches have no more influence on the selection process; it is up to the District Chair to promote the players within the District.
