Tonight I did not have to go that far, a short trip across the river to Brewer. This is where I started umpiring all star games 30 years ago.  The crew back then was Paul Colburn (plate), Paul White (1st), Gus Moore (2nd) and myself at third.  Tonight it was Rob St Louis and myself for the Brewer/Bangoor West match up.  It was all Brewer early and stayed that way with a 13-1 score in six. Next stop for me is Old Town. We are now down to six teams in the district and the first step is almost complete. Trips seem to be getting smaller. Only eight miles round trip tonight.

Tonight Tom Wilbur and I ventured north to Millinocket. Millinocket hosted Bangor East. Not a bad game, East wins by ten in five. Thunderous home run hit by one of the East players, still wondering if it has landed yet.  Another 150 miles under my belt on my way to Williamsport.  This weekend I will be doing some 10-11, Junior and Senior games and then Monday it is back to the 11-12 yr olds.  This makes 280 miles for the week and 672 for the season.

Tonight I was in Hermon for the Hermon vs Holbrook game.  Great piched game with some great defense as well. Highlight of the night was when catcher from Hermon scored on a past ball, what a slide. Still trying to figure out how he got his body and legs to bend like that. Hermon wins 6-1.

The latest stop on the road to Williamsport was in Millinocket!  Great game, Lare worked the plate in a solid game. Millinocket jumped out to an early 2-0. Lincoln scored three time in the bottom of the fourth to take the lead. Millinocket countered with on in the top of the fifth and tie the game.  Extra innings here we come, Milly wins in seven.  I have logged 392 miles this week on my trek to Williamsport.
