News and Announcements
Well day two is now in the books. I started the day on first base in the Canada/Mexico game, at 11:00 am. Great game, 2-1 in 7 innings. Game went 2 hours 57 minutes. There was 16000 plus fans there. Again, I repeat, this is no ordinary Little League game. My second game was at 3:00 pm, I had 40 minutes to get ready for the next game, I was on the Right Field line. Southeast played Mid Atlantic. Not a bad game, Southeast 6-2. Again 16000 plus at the game, besides coverage from ABC. My last game of the was Great Lakes vs West. Lopsided, West hit seven home runs and won 15-0. I am glad I was in the replay booth. I appreciate all the emails and text messages on the air time I recieved today.
The fun started Thur night with a picnic at Penn State College of Tech. Then there was a 3 plus hour parade. 16 city blocks. The umpires lead the way in the back of an Army vehicle. Jime Rice was grand marshall. Today started off soggy. Rained put a rush on opening ceremonies. Then the 1 pm game was pushed back to 1;45, the sun came out for the 3 pm start and it was muggy. I had the Left Field foul line. Thought I had a quiet day ahead of me, wrong. I had a couple calls early. This is no ordinary Little League game. What a crowd. Tomorrow is another day and I can not wait. Will try and post pictures later. Oh Aisa Pac beat Europe 16-0.
Last night the coaches and umpires were briefed on different situations. The meeting lasted approximately one hour. More meetings Thur am.
