Preliminary Round Results (7-31-22)

Game Two: Narragansett/South Kingstown 16 Coventry 3
N/SK win series, 2-0.

Game Two: Vogie Baseball 7 Scituate 0
Vogie wins series, 2-0.

Game Two: Westerly 6 East Greenwich 5
Westerly wins series, 2-0

In a tight game, Westerly advanced to the quarterfinals by edging East Greenwich, 6-5.

Pitchers Noah Burdick and DeLuca Kyan combined to hold off a determined Avenger nine. Burdick struck out three batters over the first four innings, while Kyan allowed just one run on four hits over the final three innings.

Westerly’s Nick Tria was 2-3, with one run scored and one key rbi. Lucas McAllister had a timely two-double to start off the scoring in the bottom of the fourth inning.

For the Avengers, Purcell had a strong showing on the bump, limiting Westerly to one hit over the first three innings.

R. Marcantonio had two rbi’s and S. Gianelli (1) had one rbi for East Greenwich.

Game One: Warwick PAL 11 LaSalle 1

Matt Colvin (six strikeouts), who allowed only one run on three hits in five innings of work, led Warwick PAL to an 11-1 victory over LaSalle.

Offensively, the Warwick contingent received two hits apiece from Mason Link, Brady Maccarone, Conner Farrell, and Devyn Robbins.

Game One: Smithfield 8 Chariho 1

Game One: West Warwick 12 East Providence 4

Led by the solid start of Ty Condon and timely hitting, West Warwick defeated East Providence, 12-4.

Condon, who earned First Team All-Division honors this spring, gave up two early runs in the first inning before striking out ten batters in 4 2/3 innings of work. In fact, Condon retired nine out of ten batters after the Knights took an early 2-0 lead.

After pulling ahead 3-2 in the bottom of the second inning on a two-out double by Zack Lawrence and and a two-run single by Dominic Carollo.

In the bottom of the third inning, WWCM broke open the game with six runs on hits by Brendan Griffin, Josh Pedus, Nathan Hunt (two-run double), Leyton Belanger, Zack Lawrence (rbi double) and Dominic Carollo.
