West Warwick’s Connie Mack team advanced to the quarterfinals where they will meet #2 seed Slocum Baseball Club of North Kingstown (10-2) with a 7-4 victory over East Providence.

West Warwick opportunistically took a 4-1 lead in the bottom of the third inning on three errors, one walk and two hit batsmen.

Down 4-1 in the top of the fifth inning, the Knights tied it up 4-4 when Zach Sutton (walk) and Blake Fuller (fielder’s choice) scored on Matt Borden’s two-run double to left field. Borden, then, tied it up when Christian Laureano tripled to right-center.

Tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, West Warwick scored three runs on hits by Chase Joubert (double), Sammy Corrado (single), Josh Pedus (rbi double) and Dominic Carollo (rbi double) for a 7-4 lead.

Logan Dean came into seventh inning and picked up the save by retiring two batters on fly outs and striking out one.
