Vogie downs Rams, 5-1!
Vogie starter Andrew Jones held the Rams scoreless over 4 innings of work, scattering 3 hits while striking out nine batters to lead them to a 5-1 victory.
The Rams threatened in the sixth with three back to back singles and a hit batter to bring in their first run of the game.
However, with the bases loaded and no outs, reliever Dayton VanAmberg made a nice play on a ball hit back at him to get the runner out at home.
The next batter hit a shallow fly ball to right field to Danny Desilets, who after making the catch fired the ball to VanAmberg who threw to catcher Matt Gale to cut down the runner at the plate.
Vogie put up three runs in the first thanks to a walk, two singles and a triple by Matt Gale. After giving up those three runs in the first, the Rams pitching staff struck out nine batters over the next four innings.
