Heartwell of Lakewood (CA) is a win away from the championship game, having shutout Washington, 9-0 Tuesday night. Three pitchers held the host to only two singles: Kyle Christensen went five innings, while Cesar Gastelum and Jonathan Harlow pitched one inning apiece. Washington turned the second triple play in World Series history on a 4-6-3-2 play in the 7th inning. After two outs, Jeff Fisher singled to center. David Ross reached by error (SS). Pat Colwell doubled to left, scoring Fisher and Ross. Tyler Smith singled to center, scoring Colwell. Lakewood 2nd: Jonathan Johnson led off with a single to center and stole second. After an out, Trevor Costin reached first by infield single near second. After ann out, Jeff Fisher reached by infield single off the pitcher's leg, scoring Johnson. On the play, an error (P) allowed Costin to score. Lakewood 6th: Nick Evans led off with a double to left. Jonathan Johnson reached second by error on bunted ball (E2), Evan scoring on the errant throw. Lakewood 7th: Sal Olmos led off by reaching on error (SS). Michael Schultz reached by infield single to third. Pat Colwell reached by error (3B), loading the bases. Washington turned a triple play as Olmos scored from third. On the triple play, James Dorsey grounded to second -- E.J. Morascyzk tossed to shortstop Alex Evans, who threw to firstbaseman Brad Poland -- Poland then threw to catcher Zane Zebrasky to get Schultz at the plate -- 4-6-3-2 triple play -- the second triple play in World Series history.
