Was Chiefs leading hitter in 2009 with an overall average of .329... Can play all positions but is primarily an infielder... Just completed his junior year at D-1 UMass-Amherst where he hit .329 with eight homers, ten doubles, four triples and 34 RBI ... Was named Atlantic-10 Conference's Player of the Week on May 10 when he led the Minutemen at the plate, hitting .500 (11-for-22) with eight runs scored and 10 RBI. Five of his 11 hits were for extra bases, contributing to an .864 slugging percentage and registered four multi-hit games on the week... Malden, MA native also had a big 2009 sophomore spring for the Minutemen when he hit .278 (37-133) while appearing in 42 games and chalking up nine doubles, five home runs and 30 RBI's.... Hit a two run homer in the A-10 Tournament to give UMass a 5-4 win over Fordham.... Went 5-for-12 in the team's three-game series vs. Temple scoring five runs and driving in two with a double and a home run....Hit home runs in back-back games at Richmond totaling a combined four hits, five RBI and five runs scored in those contests.. Recorded a double, two RBI and two runs scored in a victory over Arizona...Went 4-for-4 with six RBI, one double and one triple vs. Fairfield...Was a three-year letter winner as an infielder for Malden Catholic under coach Steve Freker.. Captained MC his senior season and lead his team to a 15-7 record while accumulating a .385 BA, 18 RBI, and a .575 OBP ... Son of Pedro and Anna Copa...Has one sister, Leanna ... image
