No-Hitter leads BVR 16U Maroon to B.E.S.T. Baseball National Title

Dayden Lane capped an ipressive week for the 16U Maroon squad by tossing a no hitter in defeat of the 17U Louisiana All Stars 4-0 to capture the B.E.S.T. Baseball underclassmen national championship.
The title game would be well played by both teams , as they looked to capture and capitalize on any momentum given. With Louisiana's ace matching Lane zero for zero, the game would remain scoreless thru the first 5 innings. In the top of the sixth, just as he has done all tournament  , Chandler Jozwiak would provide the spark the Renegades were looking for. After falling in the hole 1-2 , he battled his way to a 9 pitch walk. Chris Chavez would follow with an infield single and Corbin Vines would reach on an error while laying down a sacrifice bunt. With the bases loaded and nobody out , Louisiana would draw in their infield in an effort to cut the potential run at the plate. It nearly worked. Cameron Neel grounded sharply towards the shortstop but a rushed throw to the plate would overthrow the catcher and both Jozwiak and Chavez would score. With runners in scoring position and momentum in hand,  the Renegades looked to send a message and Zach Albers delivered as he drove the first pitch he saw off the  centerfield wall for a standup double plating both Vines and Neel. When the dust had settled the Renegades led 4-0 and all attention turned to Lane to seal the deal. He wouldnt disappoint. As Louisiana's final hitter grounded out to second base , Lane would complete his no hitter and lead his squad to the national championship.
The Renegades finished the tournament with a 5-1 record, including a stretch in bracket play that saw the offense score in 15 of 18 innings.
