The Brazos Valley Renegades continued their dominating ways in Florida by claiming the 18U and 17U IBC National Titles this past week in Clearwater, FL.
The 18U Maroon team defeated Florida Tops Baseball 4-0 in the championship game on Saturday at the Walter Fuller Complex. The 18 Maroon team finished the tournament a perfect 9-0 and finishes the summer with a 26-5 overall record. Kasey Kalich was named tournament MVP while Chandler Jozwiak was awarded Tournament Offensive MVP and Joey Orsak claimed Tournament Defensive MVP. Taylor Broadway and Jarred Zumwalt were named to all tournament team. It was the 4th National Championship won by the BVR 18 Maroon team in the last 7 years.
The 17U team defeated the Lake Area (MI) Dodgers 6-4 in the 17U title game, giving BVR a clean sweep. The 17U finsihed the tournament 7-1. Justin Eckhardt was named tournament MVP while Jake Fuller was named Tournament Offensive MVP. Drew Fannin, Ty Boedeker and Dennis Englemann were named to the all tournament team.
