18 Maroon back to back National Champions - 16 Maroon title bid falls just short
The BV Renegades 18 Maroon team claimed its 2nd consecutive IBC National Title with a 12-0 win over the St. Louis Naturals on Saturday Morning at the Joe Dimaggo Complex in Clearwater, FL. The Renegades broke open a scoreless game with a 12 run 3rd inning. The Renegades finished the tournament with a 6-2 overall record and were 4-0 in bracket play with wins over Outsiders (IN) Baseball 6-1, Seattle Bombers 3-0 , Carrollwood (FL) Gators 12-8 and St Louis Naturals 12-0. It was the 5th National Championship claimed by the BVR 18 Maroon squad in the last 8 years,winning the 18U AAU National Title in 2010,2012 and 2014 and claiming the 18U IBC National Championship in 2016 and 2017.
The BVR 17 Maroon team finished pool play 3-0-1 however would fall to the St Louis Naturals 3-0 in Quarterfinal play on Thursday morning.
The BVR 16 Maroon team crashed through the tournament undefeated and carried a 7-0 record into the 16u Championship game but fell 5-2 to the Texas Prospects.
