The 10 & Under Lake Shore Lightning win the 2006 NSA Maryland State Championship. The Lightning faced the Maryland Stars on Wednesday, July 12th to complete the NSA MD State Championship tournament that was rained out on June 24th. The Lake Shore Lightning and the Maryland Stars have enjoyed a friendly rivalry all season and look forward to more great games in the future. The entire Lake Shore Lightning team did a great job both offensively and defensively winning with a score of 9-1. Brittany Jones started as pitcher and did a great job keeping hits to a minimum. Hannah Tavik relieved Brittany in the 6th inning and continued to hold the Stars to just one run. Sydney LaMarsh hit a fantastic homerun in her 5th NSA Maryland State Championship game on the 10 & Under Lake Shore Lightning. This earns Sydney LaMarsh her 5th consecutive championship on the 10 & Under Lake Shore Lightning with Coach Terry Colebrook. Congratulations to Sydney and the girls, Coach Terry, and the entire Lake Shore Lightning organization.
The Teal and Orange win the Blue-Gray Summer Shootout Tournament

The Lightning win the NSA Blue-Grey Summer Shootout Tournament. Saturday's scheduled games started off a bit slow for the Lightning with two ties and one win but the team was back in form on Sunday. The Lightning shutout the Glade Valley Gators in their first game with a score of 6-0. Both Brittany and Hannah did a great job pitching. The championship game had the Lake Shore Lightning facing the Vienna Stars. The entire team did a great job hitting and the Lake Shore Lightning won the tournament with a score of 5-2. After the completion of the NSA MD State Championship on Wednesday the Lake Shore Lightning will be taking a break from their tournament schedule as they prepare for Nationals.
The 2006 Lightning had a great day on Saturday's NSA State Championship Tournament winning both of their scheduled games. However, Sunday was postponed due to heavy rain. The championship game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at Centennial Park. The Lake Shore Lightning will be playing the Maryland Stars for the 2006 NSA Maryland State Championship title.
Win at the Blast at the Beach Tournament

The Lightning had a great weekend at the beach and are now the 2006 Blast at the Beach Champions. The Lightning won their 3 scheduled games on Saturday which earned them the number #1 seed for Sunday. On Sunday, the Lightning won against the Maryland Stars which advanced them to the Championship game against the Chester County Stars. The Lightning had an exciting game and won the tournament. The Lake Shore Lightning look forward to the Maryland NSA State Championships this upcoming weekend.
Lightning take 2nd at the Banshee's Bash

The Lake Shore Lightning team traveled approximately 3 hours to Horsham Pennsylvania to participate in the Banshee's Bash this past weekend. It was a full weekend of softball with the games beginning at 8:00 am and lasting until late in the day both Saturday and Sunday! The Lightning played the Philadelphia Spirit first on Saturday and lost but won both of the following games. The Lightning seeded an unusual 6th seed. This seed caused the team to play 4 games on Sunday to get to the Championship game where they once again faced the Philadelphia Spirit. It was an exciting game but the Lightning fell just short and lost to the
Spirit 7-4. The 2006 Lake Shore Lightning head to the beach this weekend where we hope there will be softball and fun in the sun!
