2006 Flyers Cup Playoffs
Eastern Pennsylvania leagues are now competing for the 2006 Flyers Cup Championships and we have complete coverage of the 2006 Flyers Cup including previews and the complete schedule of the 2006 Flyers Cup Championships and the Pennsylvania High School Hockey Championships to be played at the RMU Island Sports Center on Saturday April 8th. Flyers Cup A - Preliminary Round
Central York Panthers 4 Methacton Warriors 3
HIGHLIGHTS: Jason Cleaver scores with 2 minutes to go to give the Panthers an
upset win over Methacton. Jason Weitkamp makes 26 saves and Alex Cardello
scores twice for Central York. George Stevens scores twice for Methacton.

Springfield Cougars 5 Garnet Valley 4 [OT]
HIGHLIGHTS: Springfield builds a 4-1 lead after two periods on a pair of goals
by Jim Kennedy and singles by Von Mondevergine and Phil Eastman. Garnet
Valley forces overtime with three goals in the 3rd period as Mike
Sheridan's 2nd goal of the game ties it with just 30 seconds to play after
Chris Zizza and Steve Meyers closed the gap to one goal. Von Mondevergine
scored the game winner with 1:05 left in overtime on an assist Phil Eastman
to send the Cougars to the Flyers Cup.
Penncrest Lions 4 Hershey Trojans 2
HIGHLIGHTS: Dave Bixler scores twice including the game winner with 3:12 to
play in regulation as the Lions move on to defend their Flyers Cup title.
Nick Kusturiss adds a goal and three assists including an insurance tally
by Chris Tull with 53 seconds remaining. Hershey erased a 2-0 deficit in
the second period as Tyler and Patrick Lewis scored 12 seconds apart late
in the period. Penncrest goaltender Ryan McElhenney stopped 22 shots
including all 13 in the first period.
2006 Flyers Cup A – Finals
Penncrest Lions 1 Springfield Cougars 0
HIGHLIGHTS: Chris Tull's goal at 14:10 of the second period stands up as the
Lions repeat as Flyers Cup Champions and move on to play Quaker Valley.
Penncrest goaltender Ryan McElhenney stops all 25 Cougar shots for the
shutout.
