Kylee Perez commits to UCLA

Posted by Bob Stauder at Aug 11, 2011 5:00PM PDT ( 0 Comments )
I would first like to thank my Sorcerer Coaches for all their knowledge and support during my recruiting process. After doing much research I chose UCLA because of what it means to be a Bruin. At UCLA I will be challenged to be the best not only on the field but in the classroom as well, just like the incredible Bruins that walked before me. I love my future school and coaching staff and cannot wait to arrive on campus and become part of the Bruin tradition! image
Valerie Arioto's two RBIs and Keilani Rickett's clutch seventh-inning pitching help lift the U.S. national team to the World Cup of Softball championship Monday night in Oklahoma City. The two former Sorcerers continued the outstanding play they had exhibited during earlier rounds of the tournament. Arioto's first-inning walk and third-innning single plated two runs and marked the tenth and eleventh two-out RBIs she had produced during World Cup play. Val, who was forced to miss the entire 2011 collegiate season with a broken leg, earlier in the tourney stroked a two-run triple in the win over Australia, a two-run double and grand slam homer in Saturday's 8-4 win over Japan, and a homer in Sunday's 10-0 drubbing of Great Britain. Ricketts' save in the finals was her third impressive outing in Cup play, following her pool play wins over Australia and Japan. Keilani is no stranger to important wins in Hall of Fame Stadium, home of the World Cup, having pitched Sorcerer to the 2009 ASA 18 Gold National Championship on the same field. Congratulations to Val and Keilani and to the entire USA team - World Cup champions!
