Sorcerer Exits Regional Qualifier With Loses to Corona Angels and Firecrackers
| Following two days of terrific hitting, Sorcerer bats went cold on Sunday as the Corona Angels and the Firecrackers sent Sorcerer home from the Regional Qualifier in Lancaster, CA.
Sorcerer accumulated only 3 hits in Game 4 against the Corona Angels, singles from Kasey Tydingco, Maya Burns, and Emily Allard, while the Corona Angels scored early and often, beating Sorcerer 8-0. Ouch! In game 5 against the Firecrackers, Sorcerer scored the first two runs. However, the scrappy Firecrackers refused to give up. A Sorcerer error gave the Firecrackers their first run, while a beautiful two-run homer to right field brought the Firecrackers into the lead, which they never gave up. Neither team scored another run, and after 7 innings Sorcerer lost 2-3, ending the weekend quest for a national tournament berth at the regional qualifier. Congratulations to the SD Renegades, Victory, Corona Angels, Strike Zone, Jets Gold, and So Cal Athletics for qualifying to Nationals this weekend! Complete tournament results are available. |
