Sorcerer Hannah Williams Throw 3-Hitter
Junior Hannah Williams threw a three-hit shutout with 13 strikeouts as Freedom-Oakley (20-1, 13-0), The Chronicle's No. 3-ranked softball team, came within one win of clinching the Bay Valley League title with a 5-0 victory over visiting Pittsburg (5-15, 4-9) on Tuesday.
"I was on the team with my sister (Amanda) when we won NCS, and now it's important we show we can do it ourselves. That's the goal - win NCS," said Williams, who has verbally committed to Fresno State.
Besides her pitching performance, Williams had an RBI single in the first inning, and was walked and hit by a pitch to reach base in all three plate appearances, raising her average to .425 for the Falcons.
