Sorcerer Breana Kostreba Leads Aptos to Victory over Soquel
Breana Kostreba, Flora Valenzuela and Lindsey Sotomayor took care of the offense. Vanessa Walker took care of the pitching.
Together, they carried the unbeaten Aptos High softball team to a 5-0 victory over host Soquel in a Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League game Tuesday.
Kostreba, a freshman, doubled and scored on an infield singled by Valenzuela in the first inning, then homered in the fifth inning to make the score 2-0. In the seventh, Valenzuela hit a two-run double that drove in Kostreba and Sotomayor, after which Christina Connery hit a sacrifice fly.
Kostreba, Valenzuela and Sotomayor each had two hits. Walker allowed five hits and four walks in seven innings. She struck out four.
The win improved Aptos to 8-0 overall and 4-0 in SCCAL play
