Sorcerer Completes Fall Season Undefeated in Southern California

Sorcerer Has Fun in Huntington BeachThe Sorcerer Softball Club of Sorcerer Gold-Phil and Sorcerer Gold-Pete completed an outstanding fall season with a clean sweep of 12 wins and no loses in the Surf City Pre-Thanksgiving Showcase this past weekend.

As coaches from UCLA (including Olympic Gold Medalist Lisa Fernandez), Tennessee, Cal, Oregon, Illinois State, Miami University of Ohio, UC Davis, University of New Mexico, Arizona St., Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Auburn, New Mexico St., BYU, Utah, Utah St., Houston, Penn St., Florida St., North Carolina, N.C. State, Iowa St., Cal St.-Northridge, Loyola Marymount, St. Mary's, U.C. Riverside, Northwestern University and about a dozen others looked on, Sorcerer Gold-Phil won 5 games against strong competition in the final event of the fall season.

Sorcerer Gold-Phil compiled consecutive shut outs against the Pasttime Gold, Victory USA, and Washington Sidewiders before facing the traditionally strong Corona Angels coached by Marty Tyson. Despite giving up 6 runs to the Angels, 3 by homeruns, Sorcerer proved victorious scoring an impressive 8 runs.

In the final game of the season, Explosion came out strong, scoring the first and only run on a passed ball. But homeruns by Kasey Tydingco and Alex Robben, her second of the weekend, ended Explosion's hopes of a victory against Sorcerer.

In all, Sorcerer scored 30 runs and gave up 7 this weekend, ending the fall season undefeated in showcase play in Southern California.
