Announcement
Pitcher Johanna Grauer has verbally committed to Arizona State University. Grauer accepted the grant-in-aid in a telephone call to Sun Devils Head Coach Clint Myers, following her visit to the Tempe campus last weekend. "I chose Arizona State because it has always been my dream to play for a Pac-12 school," Grauer said. "The ASU coaching staff is undeniably committed to the softball program and to the well-being of the athletes. The moment I stepped on campus I knew that ASU was where I wanted to go to school. I can't wait to join the Sun Devil family."
Grauer became a highly-recruited prospect after joining Sorcerer earlier this fall, drawing interest from a number of top-tier programs. A sophomore at Amador Valley H.S. in Pleasanton, Calif., Johanna helped pitch the Dons to the 2011 North Coast Section championship.
"Johanna has done a great job in her three months with us," Sorcerer head coach Phil Mumma said. "She throws hard and spins the ball well and is a great competitor and teammate. She deserves this honor."
Arizona State has a rich softball history and won the 2008 and 2011 national collegiate championships.
Major props to Johanna!
