FORMER EAGLE, MIRESSI LEADS FRAMINGHAM STATE
Miressi Scores Twice as Ice Hockey Wins Thriller Over Worcester 3-2
With the Lancers (7-4-3, 4-3-1 MASCAC) trailing 2-1 entering the final stanza freshman Derek Serbon (Crown Point, IN) sent in the game-tying goal at 13:37 on assists from junior Nick Asterito (Philadelphia, PA) and freshman Mark Owen (Denver, CO).
The Rams (2-10, 2-7 MASCAC) then killed a pair of penalties midway through the period to set up Miressi's late game heroics as he received some help on the breakaway score from sophomore Ben Pacific (Marlboro, Mass.) and first-year Bo Driscoll (Chelmsford, Mass.).
Worcester State opened the second period with the first marker of the season from sophomore Pat Stychiewicz (Chicopee, Mass.) at 2:28, but Framingham State would respond with the game-tying goal 54 seconds later from junior Aran Ward (Dunstable, Mass.) and the go-ahead tally from Miressi with 3:51 off the clock on a power play. Ken Tanaka (Wayland, Mass.) and Jamie Pollara (Plymouth, Mass.) assisted on the Miressi's game-tying score.
Miressi now leads Framingham State with nine goals and five assists for a team-best 14 points.
