Trumbull Eagles Hockey

Saturday night, the Trumbull skaters qualified for the DII State Tournament with a one sided (8-0) victory over Fairfield High School. With five games remaining, the Eagles will look to improve their play-off positioning. Trumbull has qualified for post season play three of their last four seasons and look to make their mark. The program has never advanced past the first round. Trumbull is the ninth DII to qualify and currently holds the same ranking. You should definately check out www.tcrink.com (hit the high school hockey link at the bottom of the page- a tremendous amount of info here) and www.ushsho.com, which provides and interesting "power" ranking. The Eagles are currently ranked fourth in the FCIAC and have put themselves in a good position for the league play-off. This year, only the top eight teams in the conference will qualify for the league tournament. The league has done away with the two tier format leaving the 2002-2003 Eagles as the last tier II champions.
