Astros

Game 2 of the season for the Astros found them facing home-team Diamondbacks. Ross led off with a single. Colin flied out. Ross stole second and then moved to third when Grant reached first on a throwing error by the D'backs third baseman. Grant then stole second. Dylan hit a slow-roller to the first baseman, and although he was out, Ross scored from third and moved Grant to third. Aaron hit directly to the first baseman and the inning was over. In the bottom of the first, with Colin pitching, the D'backs tied the game at one while leaving two stranded. In the second inning 9 of the Astros' batters saw the plate. Lewis struck out. Chris walked and moved to second on Tyler's fielder's choice grounder to the second baseman. Brian got a nice single which scored Chris. Brian advanced to second on a passed ball. Timothy was hit by a pitch. Fletcher had a nice hit, bringing home Brian. Brett got a nice hit bringing home Timothy. Darwin had a swinging strikeout which the catcher failed to catch, and advanced safely to first. Fletcher scored on Darwin's advance. Ross struck out to end the inning. At the end of 2 the score was Astros 5, D'backs 2. Colin walked to start the third inning. Grant hit into a fielder's choice advancing Colin. Colin advanced to third on a balk. Dylan struck out. Aaron hit a single, scoring Colin. Luis struck out to end the inning. The D'backs did not score in the third. In the fourth, Chris was hit by a pitch, advanced to second and third by stealing the bases. Stole home on a throwing error by the catcher trying to pick him off at third. Tyler and Brian struck out and Timothy hit a ground-out to the pitcher. The D'backs did not score off Tyler in the fourth. In the fifth the Astros were up and down 1, 2, and 3. Lead off for the D'backs in the bottom of the fifth was a long fly to right field which was caught. Second batter hits a solid drive into the left field corner for a standup double. Third batter of the inning walks. Next batter hits a single. Fifth batter hits into a potential double-play, but only the runner going to second is out. Final batter is out on strikes. Colin pitched 3 innings allowing 2 runs, with 5 Ks and 6 BB. Tyler pitched 2 innings allowing 1 run, with 3 Ks and 2 BB.
