South Charlotte Panthers

2009 High School baseball officially got underway for all SCP players this past week with the opening of the North Carolina season. RAFAEL GONZALEZ (2010) Cypress Bay HS got an early start in Florida and are currently 8-0 on the season. Raffy has begun the season on fire at the plate in leading the Lightning team offensively. He has smashed 3 home runs and is hitting a blistering .600 to start the season.

MAVERICK MILES (2010) South Rowan and recent High Point University commit started the season about as hot as it gets in leading his team to a 8-1 victory over county rival North Rowan. Mav collected a single, double, triple and home run to "Hit for the Cycle" in game one.

 In addition to Maverick; Panther players hitting home runs in week 1 were BRIAN HOLBERTON (2010) Myers Park; TY LINTON (2010) Charlotte Christian; JAKE FINCHER (2011) Butler and XANDER MADDOX (2012) Charlotte Latin.

LOGAN RATLEDGE (2011) Ardrey Kell and TREY LANEY (2010) Charlotte Christian both had "Game Winning RBI's" in one run wins respectively for their teams.

TYLER McCARTHY (2011) Mallard Creek pitched his team to a game 1 victory over Hickory Ridge and PATRICK McMAHON (2010) Butler earned a complete game shut out victory over Richmond Senior.
