"SOUTH CHARLOTTE PANTHERS FOR A CURE"
In the final week of the 2012 season the SCP 2014 team accomplished one of their biggest goals of the season when they broke the SCP All Time Single Season Wins Record with a 1-0 victory over the Carolina Cubs in Boshamer Stadium at the University of North Carolina. The victory gave the Cats win number 65 which broke the record held by the SCP 2007 team dating back to the 2004 season. More imporantly the win and subsequent record doubled the programs contribution from $5 per win up to $10 per win to the American Cancer Society to help the fight to find a cure for this horrible disease. The "SCP For A Cure" program was started by the SCP 2007 team and is an annual recognition and contribution to the ACS.
In Memory of SCP 2014 player Foster Machicote's mother Rona who we lost this year and in honor of the below listed honorees the SCP players celebrated their season and accomplishments by wearing Showcase Baseball Academy sponsored Pink Jerseys in the record breaking game.
