Posted by Frank Sniezek on May 26 2008 at 05:00PM PDT

The Fairhaven Post 166 Legion Baseball Team would like to congratulate Troy Ferguson 2002-2004, as he begins his Professional Baseball Career.  Troy was an outstanding middle infielder and one of the hardest working players we have had in the 10 years of our program. Troy was a leader on our team as well as he was at Old Rochester Regional High School.

Troy then went on to play 2 years of college baseball at Westfield State College in Massachusetts. During his Sophomore season in 2005, Troy was a  first team all-conference selections in the eight-team MASCAC. Ferguson, a left-handed hitting shortstop, led the Owls in eight statistical categories while batting from the leadoff position: hitting (.375), hits (51), doubles (9), triples (6), slugging percentage (.640), runs scored (33), RBI (27) and stolen bases (10). He ranked second on the team with five home runs and was named 2005 Team MVP.

After his Sophomore season, he decided to transfer to the University of Tampa, Fla. During his time at Tampa he was  key member of their 2006 & 2007 NCAA Div II National Championship Team. In 2006 Troy was an Honorbale mention  All-SSC recipient. However his play in the NCAA World Series earned him an All- Tournament 1st team selection. The 2006 team set a school record with 54 wins.  In 2007 Troy was selected to the 2nd Team All-SSC as the Spartans repeated as NCAA Div II Champions.  Troy also received his Bachelors Degree in Criminology from, The University of Tampa, in May of 2007.

Troy is now playing in his first season as an infielder for the Midwest Sliders in the Frontier League. We look forward to following his career.  GOOD LUCK, Troy
