Yanks Drizzle as Nats Sizzle

On Tuesday night a light rain fell over Richard`s Field as the Mighty Bombers took on the Nationals for the third and final meeting of the regular season. As in the previous two games, both won by the Nationals, the Yankees got off to a sluggish start defensively. The Yanks had four errors and misplayed a couple of balls in the first three innings leading to a nine run outburst that they would never recover from, and ended up losing 9-2.  The Nationals made the plays and we didn`t, it`s just that simple," says Yankee Coach, Don Peralta. There were a few bright spots for the Yankees. Facing some of the better pitching in the league the Yankees struck out only five times.  Anthony (The Big Easy) Lozano led the Yankee hitters going 2-3. Jordan (Panda) Susbilla continued his assault on the outfield walls, with another monsterous double. Scotty (Happy) Gilmore and Chase (The Mighty) Meniatis had singles. Hayden (The Hammer) Mitchell had his third homer of the season taken away by a fantastic play in the Nats outfield, but added a single in his final at bat knocking in the lone Yankee runs. While Yankee starter, Charles (Nails) Godtfredsen and the Panda fell victim to a shakey Yankee denfense, The Big Easy and Jake (The Snake) Peralta were able to hold the Nationals scoreless over the final three frames. The Snake struck out the final two batters to close out the pitching effort. Defensively the Yankees were able to put together a perfectly executed pickle play, with Parker (The Real Deal) True coming in from center field and ran down former Yankee Ramon (Mad Dog) Esparza III. Other Yankees in the right spot at the right time were: Spencer (The Road Runner) Floyd, Tristan (Brave Heart) George and (Joltin`) Jacob Rosin. With the loss the Yankees remain alone in forth place with a 5-7 record.

Defensive Gem of the Game: Parker (The Real Deal) True; finishing off an outstanding pickle play

Hustle Play of the Game: Parker (The Real Deal) True; scoring from second on a base hit

Player of the Game: Jake (The Snake) Peralta; Laying down a nice swing and striking out the final two batters of the game.

Disabled List: Tristan (Brave Heart) George; virus; day to day

The Yankee Organization would like to throw out a special thanks to Jake (The Snake) Peralta. The Snake along with the Hammer are the longest tenured Bombers. Some times referred to as the "Baby Bomber," because he`s the youngest on the team, Jake is always up for the challenge when it comes to competing for playing time. Thanks for all the hard work!
