1. Take your batting stance with your back shoulder pressed up against a wall. Your back foot should be lined up directly under your shoulder and your back knee as illustrated. (Yes, this might necessitate lowering your back elbow for the time being, but don't worry, we will get to whether your little league coach was right when he or she told you to "keep your back elbow up, so that you swing level" in future "Tips of the Month").
