The RGMVM Softball Power Pitchers Of 2003 !

Posted by Patrick Piteo at Feb 6, 2004 4:00PM PST ( 0 Comments )

POWER PITCHERS OF RGMVM SOFTBALL The 2003 Big League power pitcher of the year was Kate Scotko. After seven years at RGMVM Kate has brought a new dimension to girl’s softball at the league. She was the first windmill pitcher and opened the door for other girls to follow. Through her example other girls are now taking windmill lessons, playing travel ball and competing at the high school level. This spring Kate will be finishing her career at Stella Maris H.S. . Next year she will be moving into the NCAA ranks on the Molloy College softball team. The Senior Division pitcher of the year was Samantha Stallone. Sammy led the way for Glendale Diner on the mound with her tremendous control and determination. Sammie is undefeated in the last two seasons for the Diner. Sammie makes her entire team better behind her by pitching and not just throwing. This quality sets Sammie aside from the rest. Sammie starts her High School career this spring and will take her game to the next level. The sky is the limit for young hurler Stallone, who continues to prove she is one of the best big game pitchers at RGMVM. In the Major league Division, Dayna Ferran’s power pitching made her the standout on the mound. Dayna was undefeated in the 2003 regular season. She was also undefeated in play-off competition. The ace on Schawaroch Chapels, Dayna led her team to victory in the 2003 Major Division World Series championship. As a student of Diana DiGilio and Julie Bolduc, Dayna has many years left at RGMVM and many championships ahead of her. Since Kate Scotko started the trend in windmill pitching, the RGMVM softball program has a full arsenal of up and coming power pitchers and they deserve mention. Kayley Ferran, Lynn Schiano, Krystil Hofmann, Olivia Auman, Cecilia Ehressmen, Johanna Rice, Nicole Croquez, Stephanie Bristol and Danielle Esposito are all expected to keep this program strong for many years to come.
